I first tried to make the top and it came out pretty cool to wear. A little bit of casual and a little bit of dressing up due to the shiny fabric. And then, i was thinking of making cocktail dresses from the same cut on top. I would love something is not too much couture but should be very elegant. It's open on the back but not too much sexy. The crossing bands can help to hold the dress in place and show your skin a little bit :-)))
This group of three designs was developed from the same idea of a hauter top with crossing bands in the back. This idea is a bit personal because i don't like too much of closer in my designs. I don't like either button or zipper. I first tried to make the top and it came out pretty cool to wear. A little bit of casual and a little bit of dressing up due to the shiny fabric. To follow the first design in cruise collection, i chose white linen fort this next design. The first idea was a white linen dress and a touch of brown at the waist line. But the idea changed a bit at the end, i decided to keep all white and added a little touch of seashell buttons on the sides.
To keep the flow in my collection, I kept the mullet hem and added big ruffles to it. I also kept the same strings of seashell buttons on the neck. I could imagine a lady wearing this white dress walking on the beach and having all those ruffles touching her legs under the wind. It would make a romantic scene!!! I made this dress as a souvenir for myself from a small piece of fabric left from interior design work. In fact, i was not a big fan of floral fabric for clothing, but when i found this piece in my storage, it reminded me of many nice memories that I had with my team at UUU Designs in the past years.
You could see the big floral motif on the red fabric that i applied on by hand. That fabric was supposed to make cushion, not for clothes. But after the work was done, we had a piece left and we didn't use it for anything else. Anyway, i decided to keep the puffy floral design and made a simple summer dress for myself. It was fast to make though! I tried the dress on and of course i loved it :-))) A new design just arrived today! I used natural beige linen to create this design with a little touch of seashell pearl. After the turquoise dress, i was very excited with my plan in making a cruise collection to sell in South of France. Someone could think that it was funny because i always dreamed big... haha... but anyway, i loved my new idea. And the pre-collection design was a simple and breathable dress that a lady would love to wear it to walk bare feet on the sand, enjoy the sun and cool wind from the sea.
"From left-over material to a summer dress", that's the real meaning of this design! I bought this turquoise linen to make cushions for my clients. After the production, i got a small piece left in the storage. That was a stunning color for summer but i stayed staring at it for a couple of months.
When i went to the beach in June, i was so inspired by summer heat at the beach in front of the blue ocean. It came in my head a new idea of a cruise collection. It would be great! I know that i can have endless inspirations of blue sky, crystal clear ocean, white sand,... Even though i still had to work on the other designs but resort wear would be my next. And this week, when i looked at the piece of turquoise linen, i would want to do something with it to warm up my idea. So i took it and draped it on the mannequin. The fabric was not much, so i started to make a top, something should be very simple. And then i found the last water lily print that i had left from my cushion collection a while ago. For the beach, i would like a very comfortable dress that let the wind going through and touched my skin. So the dress would be lose fitting on the body, easy to get on and get off. After two days working on it, it came out a strapless summer dress with fuchsia water lily applied on the waist line. The color was super vibrant and eyes catching, definitely for summer :-)) Hello summer! Here it is! Wow... I actually created a beach bag for myself. The idea just came at the beginning of this week, after a whole week i was working on some designs of the jewelry travel bag collection. My beach bag that I had was so old, and i was thinking of buying a new one. However, i haven't seen anything that catched my eyes. And i was thinking of making one for myself. Why not? This was the second time i created a hand bag. The first time was the leather bag that i made last year, which was cut out of my leather skirt. I have never learned how to make a bag, but i wanted to try it anyway. For the beach bag, I was thinking of something that i could adjust the size. A normal size that i could carry around for shopping, but it should be rather big when i needed to put all my stuff such as beach towel, water, sunscreen, swim wear,... for the beach time. Therefore, it came out the design below. Two little claps on the side helped me to adjust the size as how i wanted. Small or big, it's up to me! And I chose soft jute (not so stiff and thick as original jute) with blue, simply because i thought of white sand and blue ocean. And i also picked the bamboo handles to complete the look of nature. Hoooorayyyyy... now i have a beach bag to use this weekend!!!! After months delaying on new designs for UUU Designs, it came out to a new idea this month. Actually, i was thinking that i already made a lot of cushion collections in the past couple of years and there's no need to make more. So i stopped designing for UUU in the last 6 months and i was thinking of something else that i could use up all of the materials that we had in stock. And the idea came when i attended Saigon Flea Market, the girls would love to have a beautiful jewelry organizer where they can keep all of their jewelries in place. I need one for myself too! Something that looks fashionable, well-organized, and convenient for me to travel. Every time i traveled, my jewelries made a big mess inside of the bag.
I was thinking of a design that i could hang on the wall in my bedroom at home. And when i need to travel, i will just fold it up like a fashionable hand bag and put into my suitcase. The most important thing is that i don't want any mess while i'm traveling. That happened to me all the time before, and when i arrived to the place, i had to spend time to remove one from the other. The mess was very annoying and sometimes it broke some of my favorite jewelries. Okay, finally i started on the new design of jewelry travel bag last week and i was so happy to see how it came out. The good thing is that i can store all of my jewelries in one little bag, especially my fancy earrings and necklaces. Yes, it looks small but it can hold up to 24 pairs of earrings and keep them organized, and any kinds of jewelry even big necklaces . It is exactly what i was thinking about. Here it is!
